New Mexican Disaster Squad |
Friday May 20th, 2007 |
So on a rare Friday night I found myself kid free and caught up with homework and no plans
So, of course I login to get my "Myspace" fix and find that an old friends band is playing just up the road from me. So, of course I have to go check them out.
As it turned out the bass player was unable to make it to the show but that didnt stop the powerhouse remaining trio from delivering some blistering punk rock. Unless you've been living under a cave in Orlando you have heard of "New Mexican Disaster Squad". They were one of the many upstart bands who found a venue at 'diy records' back in the late 90's.
But, unlike many of those bands -- they are still here -- at least for a little longer anyway. Sam's girlfriend Tes greeted me almost immediately and within moments I felt like I was back at diy ten years earlier. Mike Roberts was also there -- another staple in the Orlando punk rock community. Another old ass like myself. But, us old asses need to rock out occasionally also. And, Mike does it much more often than me as he is in the band "Suburban Lockdown" which is getting ready to head up on another tour. Suffice to say I had a great time. Below are some pictures from last night.
